CLEOPATRA WAS SMART
She spoke 9 languages,
understood astronomy, math, and medicine,
and was the first Egyptian leader
to speak the Egyptian language.
But like many smart women she let
matters of the heart get in the way of scholarship.
She seduced Ceasar, a married man.
He went to war, burned down
the Great library of Alexandria,
and made her queen of Egypt.
She had a son by him and moved to Rome
where the moral majority didn't like her.
He got assassinated and she rushed back to Egypt.
Part Two: Mark Anthony came to Egypt,
gave Cleopatra twin babies,
went back to Rome and married Octavia,
gave her three children, and then
went back to Egypt and also married Cleopatra.
Do you see where this is going?
Octavia's brother declared war on Egypt,
Actium happened, Anthony lost.
He fell on his sword and died.
Cleopatra committed suicide by snake.
The moral to this story is:
don't mess with Rome, or
when dealing with Romans, do as the Romans do.
