Redefining Beauty

This painting has a clay self portrait
glued on the surface.
I wrote around it with acrylic paints.
It says: I have tri focals now that are so heavy
that they leave two permanent marks on my nose.
My hands have big blue veins that stick up
drawing attention to the sagging skin
around my thumb.
And speaking of sagging,
you don't really want to hear about it.
But, hey, I think I'm beautiful.

Below my painting is a pot
by Tim Christensen-Kirby.
